Music contest to tap NRI talent
BANGALORE:Shivamurthy Kilara, a non-resident Indian, wants to identify musical talent
among Kannadigas settled in the U.S. He will produce a 26-episode reality show,
“Saagaradacheya Saptaswara”, to do just that.
The show will start from the first week of November with four zones: Chicago, New Jersey,
Houston,and California. Music director Hamsalekha will be the judge on the show.
Singer Rajesh Krishnan, music director Mano Murthy and lyricist Jayanth Kaikini are among
those who will participate.
Addressing presspersons here on Tuesday, Mr. Kilara said that Kannadigas settled in the
U.S. had not forgotten Kannada culture and the show was aimed at finding new talent
among them.
Mr. Hamsalekha said that the contest was an attempt to create peace through music.
Although the contest is for Kannadigas in the U.S., two persons from Karnataka will be
chosen to participate in the quarter-finals.
